SCRIPTURE: Colossians 1:9-14

9: For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10: That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11: Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12: Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:..
14: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: DIVINE PURPOSE REQUIRES A WORTHY WALK

Walking in divine purpose means living intentionally according to God’s will and not merely pursuing personal desires. God did not create believers to live aimlessly or without direction. Every child of God is called into a divine purpose, a life that reflects His will, bears spiritual fruit, and advances His kingdom.

Paul prayed for believers to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will so they could walk worthy of the Lord. Divine purpose is discovered when we know God, follow His will, and live for His glory. Indeed, divine purpose begins with knowing God’s will, “That ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will…” (v. 9). A purposeful life starts with spiritual understanding and alignment with God’s purpose.

Purpose is not only about assignment; it is also about character. God wants believers to live in a way that honours Him.

A worthy walk includes: obedience, holiness, humility, love and faithfulness. Our lifestyle should reflect the Christ we represent, so that we can bear fruit. A life connected to God will produce visible spiritual fruit. Fruitfulness may be in the form of winning souls, encouraging others, serving faithfully, godly character and advancing God’s kingdom. When we align with God’s purpose, our lives become channels of blessing, impact, and eternal significance.

ASSIGNMENT
Intentionally walk in divine purpose for your life, so that your life will bear fruit.

PRAYER
Lord, fill me with the knowledge of Your will and purpose for my life.
