ABOUT

Presbyterian Student Fellowship (PSF)

The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria actively encourages and supports the establishment of student fellowships for its youths across various tertiary institutions of learning nationwide. This campus ministry is officially known as the Presbyterian Students Fellowship (PSF), also affectionately recognized as The Kingly Family.

PSF provides a dedicated environment where students and members of the immediate academic community can gather for worship, spiritual growth, and Christian fellowship.

Organization

  • The Presbyterian Students Fellowship structured operations span three primary administrative tiers: Chapters, Zones, and National bodies.

    • Chapters: Formed by students within a specific tertiary institution (for example, the University of Lagos is recognized as the UNILAG Chapter) and coordinated by designated Chapter Leaders.
    • Zones: Comprise various institutional chapters grouped under a specific region or Synod (such as the Lagos Zone) and managed by Zonal Leaders.
    • National: Encompasses all institutional chapters across the entire federation, governed under the oversight of National Leaders.

    The respective governing tiers convene regularly through Chapters Meetings, Zonal Governing Council Meetings (ZGC), and National Governing Council Meetings (NGC).

Membership & Participation

Membership and participation in the fellowship are fully open to both Presbyterian and non-Presbyterian students. Distinct from traditional church structures, non-Presbyterian members are eligible to hold executive offices and may occupy leadership positions up to the National level.

To establish a new chapter within any tertiary institution, a small group of self-identified Presbyterian students is sufficient to initiate regular fellowship meetings in a designated space. However, formal registration of the fellowship body within any institution remains subject to the specific compliance requirements and regulations established by that school’s authorities.

Furthermore, a dedicated Alumni Body operates from the chapter to the national level, providing strategic guidance, mentorship, and administrative oversight to the student fellowship.
