One Thing I Know
SCRIPTURE: John 9:24-28
24: Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
25: He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
26: Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? How opened he thine eyes?
27: He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? Will ye also be his disciples?
28: Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A PERSONAL ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS GIVES ONE A TESTIMONY
The Pharisees called the man who had been healed and demanded that he give glory to God. They wanted him to admit that Jesus was a sinner. But the man did not allow their argument to confuse his testimony. He simply declared: “One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.” He did not have answers to all their questions, but he knew what Jesus had done for him. There are times when people may question our faith, challenge our testimony, or demand explanations for what God has done. We may not have answers to every theological or intellectual question, but we can confidently testify about our personal encounter with Christ.
The man’s testimony was powerful because it was based on experience. He was blind, but Jesus gave him sight. Nobody could convince him otherwise.
Our testimony should not depend on people’s approval. What matters is that we remain truthful about God’s work in our lives. Perhaps you cannot explain everything about your journey with God, but there is “one thing” you know. You know where He brought you from. You know what He has done. You know how His grace has sustained you. The healed man did not know everything, but he knew one thing: Jesus had changed his life.
You may not have answers to every question, but hold firmly to what you know. Your experience of God’s grace is a testimony that should not be silenced.
ASSIGNMENT
Refuse to allow criticism or doubt to erase your testimony.
PRAYER
Father, may I never forget where You brought me from and what You have done for me.
